Praising God
Back to the OR for Procedure!

Yesterday was once again busy – tied up with my never-ending, SCI complications, keeping me from doing my daily normal posting, but not keeping me from serving, praising and loving God!

Quick Rewind…

About 2 years ago, due to an ever increasing number of bladder spasms, I decided to give Botox a try. I went through the procedure and of course, as always, I fell into the “rarely happens” group and was sick in bed for ten days! I felt like it was a case of the flu – supercharged – on crack!!! Not that I know what crack feels like, but the botox affected me, in a powerful way, because every square inch of my body hurt! I broke my cardinal rule of “never saying never” and stated, “I will never have that done again.”

However, along my journey, God revealed to me that there is a flip side to always being in the medical patient minority! Most people get benefits from bladder botox injections for three to six months or less. The single treatment, almost two years ago, led to the elimination of my bladder spasms for over a year.

…Back to Present

So, here I am two years later, eating crow, because I broke my cardinal rule lol. I took the dive and had another Botox injection done on Wednesday. I rationalized somewhat since this has been such a horrific year of pain, procedures, hospitalizations, weight loss and the addition of two new tubes (feeding & suprapubic). I figured, “what the heck”, 10 days more of horrific pain won’t kill me.

I recovered a bit better than last time, at least so far. I was allowed to go home, with instructions to rest the remainder of the evening. Today, I was actually able to travel to a non-medical appointment – stay tuned for another enormous blessing bestowed upon my family to be announced within this next month.

Optimistic Future

I’ll be taking it easy, at least through the weekend. I do have a series of medical appointments tomorrow to evaluate the possibility of getting my feeding tube removed – YAY!! 😁

My urologist also said that if I do well with intermittent catheterization this next month, we will be able to pull the superpubic catheter at that time – another big YAY!! 😁 Tubes that we once thought were going to be permanent, now being pulled – through our ultimate Healer!

Thanks to my wonderful family and my beautiful service dog, Chase (more blessings from our Father) who are always there for me, as my hands and feet!

Praising God
Praise God!

I praise Him for giving me strength during the dark and painful times, while keeping my heart filled with joy the whole time! He has sped up my healing monumentally and I am so grateful!!

I’ll end with my favorite saying from the God’s Not Dead movies,

“God is good…all the time, and all the time, God is good!!

Blessings to you all! 🙏🏻 ♥️ ✝️

Stand in Your Love by Josh Baldwin/Bethel Music

When darkness tries to roll over my bones
When sorrow comes to steal the joy I own
When brokenness and pain is all I know
Oh, I won’t be shaken, no, I won’t be shaken

My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love
My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love
My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love!

Shame no longer has a place to hide
I am not a captive to the lies
I’m not afraid to leave my past behind
Oh, I won’t be shaken, no, I won’t be shaken!

‘Cause my fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love
My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love
My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love!

Oh, I’m standing

There’s power that can break off every chain
There’s power that can empty out a grave
There’s resurrection power that can save
There’s power in Your name, power in Your name

There’s power that can break off every chain
There’s power that can empty out a grave
There’s resurrection power that can save
There’s power in Your name, power in Your name!

My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love
My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love
My fear doesn’t stand a chance
When I stand in Your love!

I’m standing in Your love; standing on the Rock

Oh, I’m standing, standing in Your love.
